Job Duties: This position provides leadership in managing the land information and real estate transaction aspects of the UW System portfolio. Primary responsibilities include modernizing the land information records; developing, maintaining, and expanding an enterprise geographic information system (GIS); and establishing high quality processes and standards to conduct real estate transactions. These services will provide improved support of campus master planning, long range and biennial capital planning, space utilization and optimization, environmental assessments, risk management and facilities maintenance and renewal. The GIS will enable UW System to facilitate asset-centric facilities management, improve data-informed decisions, and optimize resource allocation in support of UW System’s mission. Additionally, this individual will provide general consulting to all UW System institutions, and technical assistance to UW System Administration staff, UW System President, and indirectly, to the Board of Regents.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of land inventory, GIS systems or related fields; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Visio and PowerPoint) and electronic mail and calendar systems; fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of the real estate field and perform assigned tasks using established procedures; advanced personal computer applications, including capital asset management and CAD. Strong personal organizational skills, interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. Ability to work independently and in a team environment; to develop, manage and maintain GIS systems and geographically-based data sets; to perform complex analysis of data sets, data modeling or design, and reporting and the ability to link, import, and export data between various database management systems for reporting and data analysis purposes
Bachelor degree in land information systems or closely related field such as geography, cartography, landscape architecture, real estate management, or civil engineering preferred.
