Harley-Davidson is currently seeking a GIS Techniciam/Operator  for their Juneau Avenue facilities!! 

In this role the candidate will work closely with a team of Spatial Analysts and suppliers who support consumer, location, and market analysis as part of a broader Consumer Insight and Analytics (CIA) team.  Much of this analysis is aided by Geographical Information System (GIS) technology by leveraging spatially enabled data relating to motorcycle sales, motorcycle registrations, and demographic data.   The candidate will help maintain this GIS and relevant spatial databases for day-to-day market development decision support by providing appropriate data feeds and confirming functionality with external suppliers per a schedule of monthly data updates.  Candidate will maintain issues log relating to tool set limitations and needed upgrades  The candidate will run ad hoc reports/ maps/ and analysis per request of Spatial Analysts. The candidate will also assist in leveraging GIS technology in the development of new web-based applications for the US and non-domestic markets to broaden Field Teams and Dealer insight on the local motorcycle market opportunity.

Technical Skills

  • Enthusiasm around finding new solutions through GIS technology
  • Strong GIS skills with ESRI products (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server)
  • High level experience in applying GIS concepts
  • ArcGIS modeling (general understanding with the ability to learn advance skills)
  • Content management for ArcGIS Online and Server
  • Some experience developing ArcGIS online applications
  • General knowledge of ESRI Network and Spatial Analyst extensions
  • Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and usage
  • Python Scripting (general understanding with the ability to learn advance skills)
  • SQL knowledge

Key Functions

  • Supports Spatial Analysts by providing mapping, data, statistical analysis and reports
  • Provides support for existing applications, including troubleshooting, documentation, training, and future development
  • Updating process documentation
  • Works closely with external suppliers following up on concerns, resolving issues, and communicating project progress
  • Informs managers or Spatial Analysts about timelines, activities, and the status of projects
  • Creates reports and develops presentations for internal stakeholders
  • Performs other duties as assigned
