Responsibilities
The person hired for this position will participate in all stages of plan development including presentations, public participation, analysis, client meetings, fieldwork, mapping, design development drawing, and writing. This person will have strong time management and organizational skills, will be service-oriented, and will able to apply creativity and energy to innovative and unique projects nationwide. This position has the opportunity for travel and advancement.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be an urban/transportation planner with between two and four years of experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, or urban design with excellent oral and written communication skills, experience in GIS applications and Microsoft Excel, and experience using the Adobe Creative Suite. A broad knowledge base in urban planning with a transportation focus is essential, and specific knowledge in bicycle and pedestrian planning is preferred. Experience developing drawings using Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD or MicroStation) and experience using other design software such as SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite in 3D rendering programs such as 3D Max or Rhino is a plus. Additional desired skills include: a) experiencing with contract management in a consulting practice; b) Spanish-language skills (written and spoken); c) AICP certification.
