The VP of Georeferenced Data Strategy is responsible for CoreLogic’s overall vision and strategic execution of our enterprise imagery and geo-referenced data strategy.
At the core of CoreLogic Insurance and Spatial’ s value proposition is data. Our construction and property data assets drive innovative solutions for insurers, lenders, and governmental agencies. The Vice President of Georeferenced Data Strategy will help us fuse CoreLogic’s expansive building, location, environment and occupant data with leading edge technology, analytics, and a multitude of imagery and remote sensing data sources in a way that will break down the necessary information and technology barriers to make property insurance as easy as autoTM.
Job Duties
- Chart a roadmap of business and technology investments to build capabilities that will enable a simplified consumer experience throughout the insurance lifecycle.
- Must possess exceptional talent attraction and leadership skills as s/he must hire, mentor and manage a high quality team to deliver the aforementioned services to our clients. Identify resources and partners to engage in each phase of the roadmap and provide hand-on leadership to these teams (both internal and external) to execute.
- Apply his/her technical capabilities, to drive requirements and be an active participant in the critical interplay which results in the most appropriate design strategies and application of technologies and architecture.
- Must be comfortable operating in an extremely agile, “start-up” mode while building out foundational building blocks to enable the desired future state.
- This leader must also be an effective, business oriented partner to the Executive team, in particular the product line leaders and technology leadership, and interact with clients periodically to articulate the company’s vision and foster engagement from our clients to participate in the development of our next-generation solutions.
- Provide strategic guidance and input to SkyMeasure business and technology leadership and collaborate on ways to improve SkyMeasure’s product and operations.
- Develop a strong and authoritative knowledge of the vast data assets across CoreLogic and our partners and be able to build solutions that fuse these assets with imagery extraction and analytics capabilities to enable better customer processes and workflows throughout the property insurance lifecycle.
- Participate in M&A (acquisition target) and business partner due diligence in a leadership role.
- Continue to track changes in imagery capture, processing and data extraction technologies that may be used as a competitive advantage. Share these key insights as part of the strategic leadership team.
- Meet with clients (and often work directly with senior insurance industry executives) to insure carrier operational needs are considered in solution architecture and design.
- Proactively identify and resolve problems, manage staff, productivity, process and delivery issues.
- Work with Business Units to develop data augmentation and data expansion strategies, including how to efficiently leverage new sources of imagery and extracted data in our existing as well as our envisioned products.
- Provide industry thought leadership through blog, position article, whitepaper and/or speaking engagements
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. Deep experience with track record of success in deploying advanced technologies in the imagery acquisition, processing and/or data extraction fields.
- Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- Typically has 15+ years related experience
- Typically has 10+ years in progressive management/leadership experience
- Negotiation skills to influence strategic issues requiring coordination across functional/business unit lines or influencing senior leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and presentation skills.
- Specialized knowledge in GIS technologies and enterprise data platforms with working knowledge of current and near-future art of possible.
- Knowledge of “big data” technologies and business applications is a plus, along with development of analytics solutions for improving operational performance.
- Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products. Excellent teamwork skills
