Work will include performing routine and entry level technical geographic information systems work; creating and editing features in a SQL-Server based geodatabase; scanning and linking documents to map features; updating Flex and Javascript-based ArcGIS Server applications. Projects will involve computer data entry; reading and interpreting various maps, plats, legal documents and engineering plans. Some field work required.
Applicants must have an understanding of the principles behind GIS, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and relational databases. Experience with ArcGIS and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite required. Experience with, Javascript and programming concepts along with coursework in Geography, GIS or Computer Science is preferred. Must have a valid drivers license, safe driving record, and be at least 18 years of age.
Duration of position is approximately from mid-May to mid-August, with possible additional work opportunities over school breaks. Work schedule is generally 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
