Job Summary:

Administer, develop, maintain and support the County’s Land Information System Office (MCLIO) server software and network infrastructure including database(s) and on-line environments through the use of analysis, application development, data management, and training. Manage projects and assist staff in technical development of GIS Infrastructure hardware, software applications, database design and GIS project development.

Job Duties:

Develop and implement MCAMLIS/GIS applications and services; employ acquired skills and training to implement geospatial website, desktop and network applications development, upgrades, monitoring and maintenance; recommend SW/HW and methods required to deploy and manage Enterprise LIS systems to meet internal/external client demands. Provide MCAMLIS GIS support services; investigate a broad complex of unplanned sw/hw and network server errors and outages; apply technical, analytical and experience skills to acquire and install fixes and workarounds as required to maintain a stable, reliable and accessible LIS environment. Administer County’s GIS software and hardware infrastructure; administration of enterprise GIS systems (ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, ArcDesktop), SQL Server (2008 or higher), GIS services (map caches, feature, map and image services. Project management; manages maintenance of the Enterprise Address, Routable Centerline, Cadastral, planimetric/topographic and raster image LIS databases; assures availability and access for working databases and manages database migration and improvement projects. Contribute and formulate GIS Infrastructure Architecture; formulates and recommends best practice solutions related to the County’s Enterprise GIS. Create, draft and modify reports and presentations; Create reports and develop presentations for GIS projects, demonstrations and exhibitions.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Cartography, Computer Science, or Geography or a related field required. Candidates will be required to submit a certified copy of degree transcripts to the hiring department. Five (5) of more years of experience working with Enterprise GIS on-line services and database administration. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working with Enterprise LIS/GIS projects.
