Duties:
St. Norbert College is seeking to hire two innovative Instructional Technologists to join the Academic Technology team in Information Technology Services (ITS). The Instructional Technologists are responsible for providing leadership, assistance and mentoring in the implementation and integration of current and emerging technology in support of teaching, learning and research. One Instructional Technologist will specialize in Quantitative Applications while the other will specialize in the Digital Humanities. This team will provide training and documentation in support of instructional technology, as well as maintain and manage a variety of digital tools and resources for faculty and student use. Working collaboratively, the Instructional Technologists will coach faculty in, and model incorporation of, research-based practices in instructional design when planning technology-enhanced learning experiences.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, educational technology or a related field (Master’s degree and teaching experience or experience working in higher education, directly with faculty preferred)
- At least three years of related experience and expert knowledge of instructional technology, learning theories and instructional design
- Demonstrated proficiency developing and delivering training and effective support materials
- Knowledge of quantitative applications including GIS, statistical packages, modeling and graphing tools, lab equipment interfaces and other data visualization tools OR knowledge of applications directly supporting digital humanities including GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, wikis and blogs, preferably Word Press, digital time-lines and other publishing tools
- Experience with learning management systems, preferably Moodle and other Web 2.0 instructional technologies
- Proficiency in MS Windows and Apple OSX operating systems and mobile solutions (iOS, Android)
- Proficiency in Google Apps
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to establish good working relationships with a wide range of people within an academic community
- Willingness to embrace and leverage social media for teaching, training and promotion of instructional technology opportunities
- Project and time management skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
