Continental Mapping Consultants has an immediate opening for an Associate Project Manager, located in our Sun Prairie, WI office.  This is an entry level position. The principal responsibility of the Associate Project Manager is to work alongside a project manager to manage project throughout their life cycle. The Associate PM works in tandem with the PM to achieve the client needs and goals within contracted specifications to ensure quality and on-time delivery.  The Associate PM provides sole leadership, direction, and oversight to assigned projects from the PM. This role includes assigned responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle including estimating, assisting the production of proposals; project scheduling; project deliverables; production and QC; project budgeting and controlling all aspects of projects in accordance with contract documents. The Associate PM will support the PM throughout the lifecycle of a project while developing and learning best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage smaller projects through the project lifecycle
  • Work in tandem with the project manager on larger programs to achieve quality and on-time delivery of projects
  • Support the PM on different tasks
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Coordinate work plan and staffing for each phase of a project, coordinate assignment of project personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work-plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Client communications and presentations
  • Manage and control each project throughout its lifecycle alone or alongside the PM

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Education, training and experience equivalent to an associate or bachelor’s degree in project management, business, geospatial area of study or similar field
