Continental Mapping Consultants has an immediate opening for a Project Manager, located in our Sun Prairie, WI office. The principal responsibility of the PM is to manage each project throughout its lifecycle. The PM represents client needs and goals within contracted specifications to ensure quality and on-time delivery. The PM provides leadership, direction, and oversight to assigned projects. This role includes assigned responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle including proposal writing; project scheduling; project deliverables; production and QC; project budgeting and controlling all aspects of projects in accordance with contract documents. The PM will define, plan, execute and finalize projects within client specifications, delivering assigned projects on-time and within budget. This position identifies needed resources and coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors in order to deliver projects according to plan. The PM oversees quality control throughout the projects lifecycle consistently providing excellent customer service to clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the development of estimates (hours, costs, etc.) and writes narrative regarding the technical approaches, solutions employed and outcomes to support proposal efforts
- Manages all aspects of subcontractor engagement in a job
- Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
- Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel
- Confers with project staff to outline work-plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
- Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required
- Communicates with the Account Manager to ensure a consistent message is delivered to the client and future work opportunities are positioned correctly
- Prepares project reports for management, the client, or others
- Client communications and presentations
- Manage and control each project throughout its lifecycle
- Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies
- Review contractual and regulatory requirements of contracts, ensuring compliance

- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in project management, geospatial area of study or similar field with 3-5 years of directly related experience or an associate’s degree 5-7 years of directly related experience or a combination of education and experience equivalent to this
- Experience in leading teams or acting in a supervisory capacity
- Experience in photogrammetry and geospatial data development workflows
- Must hold or work(ing) towards PMP credential
- ASPRS CP or CMS certification or PLS preferred
- Experience in the development of Geospatial Statements of Work (SOW)
- Knowledge of production methodologies and work flows
- Basic knowledge on contracting and subcontracting
- Experience engaging and motivating staff at various levels and communicate up to senior staff members
