This position is for an experienced GIS professional. You should be a self-motivated professional with 3+ years of successful experience, have a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Planning and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally.
Key Skills and abilities for this Environmental Geospatial Professional Position:
- Provide GIS support, strategy, and delivery for GIS needs
- Have strong skills in geographic information system (GIS), hardware, software, and data for capturing, managing, analyzing, and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information.
- Develop and implement project plans and work assignments, ensure product quality, on-schedule, and on-budget completion, and safety.
- Serve as a technical specialist contributing to permit applications, analytical reports, and impact assessments.
- Demonstrates cartographic, data management, and analytical skills.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- B.S. Computer Science, Environmental Science, Biology, Engineering, Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Land Use Planning, or directly-related discipline.
- 3-5 years’ experience with the ESRI ArcGIS suite of applications, including ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcTools, and ArcInfo and ability to demonstrate the production of GIS-associated deliverables that meet client expectations using ESRI’s ArcGIS platform.
- Significant experience with using GIS tools to examine, convert and present spatial data using industry standards and best practices.
- General understanding of data types, data design and the use of relational database management of spatial data. A working knowledge of SQL syntax and the use of enterprise tools for relational database management is desired.
- Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to assist with client deliverables.
- Display attributes of a strong consultant (team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter that takes initiative, versatile, and has a client service mentality).
