Landscape Architect/Designer

Baird & Associates is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and personable Landscape Architect / Designer to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. This position will support our existing strengths in waterfront design and engineering projects including marinas, waterfronts, beaches, harbors, ports, and utilities.

The preferred candidate will assist a diverse team of international engineers and scientist with all phases of projects from initial site investigations through construction services.

You must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suites, 3DS MAX, RHINO, other various graphic rendering programs, GIS, Word and Excel, and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills.We provide a stimulating work environment with opportunities for domestic and international travel, professional development, and ownership potential within the company.

It is anticipated the candidate will participate in the following project activities:

• Proposal development
• Field Investigations (hydrographic/topographic surveys, soil sampling, etc.)
• Deployment/retrieval of field data collection instruments
• Preparation of base maps (utilizing AutoCad and GIS)
• Conceptual design and master planning
• Preparation of details, cross-sections, and perspective renderings
• Preparation of cost estimates
• Assist with report preparation
• Preparation of construction documents (plans and specifications)
• Construction observation services
• Miscellaneous tasks required to assist the project team including necessary office errands, reproducing project documents, filing, organizing, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. Landscape Architecture
• 1-3 years of experience
• Landscape Architecture registration or actively pursuing licensure
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English)
• Flexible work style, with the ability to meet challenging deadlines and client needs
• Ability to work well on multi-disciplinary teams (internal and external)
• Willingness to travel
