Position Description:
RAMTeCH Software Solutions is a global GIS consulting, data management, and software solutions company specializing in the utility and telecommunications industries, and government. We are seeking a GIS System Architect to work either in our Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota office or remotely. This position is responsible for ensuring the suite of GIS software and solutions are designed, developed and implemented in an efficient and consistent manner and that the deployed software solutions meet specific client business and technical requirements. For each project to which he/she is assigned, the GIS System Architect should have a full understanding of implementation requirements and how multiple pieces of the implementation will fit together. Work in a team environment with project managers, consultants, developers, and clients to provide analysis, design, implementation related support for Esri’s ArcGIS Portal and Platform implementations, integrations, and related geospatial and mobile projects.
Position Requirements:
- Proven capability in GIS software and system development, system integration, documentation, testing, installation, commissioning and service processes
- Experience with GIS solutions (ArcGIS, ArcFM, Geodatabases, etc)
- Experience integrating enterprise applications e.g. ERP, WMS, OMS, etc.
- SAP experience and integration with GIS a plus
- Experience with commercial RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL Server preferred
- Lead project requirements gathering workshops and develop resulting documentation
- Lead the design and documentation of proposed client solutions based on defined requirements and provide technical guidance to other team members
- Prepare project analysis, design, functional and interface specification documentation
- Perform system, database, application, and network capacity planning for clients
- Experience with databases such as MySQL/MS SQL Server or Oracle, ArcSDE administration
- Experience with systems analysis, design, testing, development and implementation of application software with either .NET technologies (C#,ASP.NET) or Java technologies (J2SE, J2EE, RMI)
- Knowledge of XML, GML, KML, Web Services (i.e., REST, SOAP), application servers, Web servers, and/or SQL performance tuning SQL performance tuning
- Experience with C#, WPF, WCF, Python programming
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman)
- Experience with electric, gas, and/or water utility business and operations
- Understanding of concepts, practices and procedures (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology, and IT Infrastructure Library®), including change management, software/systems development life cycle for application development, IT Service Management (ITSM), and IT governance
- Strong customer relationship building, written and verbal communication skills and excellent listening skills for individual interactions and in group settings
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary team
Experience and Education Required:
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years’ post-secondary experience in software/systems development preferably in the utility industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, GIS, cartography/geography, engineering, or a related field.
