Job Description:
Rock County Planning is receiving updated aerial imagery. The intern in this position will update several data layers using this new imagery including but not limited to: land use inventory, building footprints and railroad lines. Possible side projects may including working with the Zoning Administrator and Economic
Development Manager, working on GIS Apps for the website, and other duties as assigned.
Skills:
Candidates should be a graduate or undergraduate student, or recent graduate who is self motivated with a background in Geographic Information Systems, Web GIS, land use planning, regional planning, landscape architecture, geography or public policy. Experience using ArcMap is required. Experience image interpretation preferred. Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office. The applicant should have the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision after training.
Supervision:
The intern will work under the supervision of our GIS Manager/planning staff and will receive specific training needed to complete assigned tasks.
