The team lead is responsible for managing staff and performing mapping work within all production phases for aerial and ground based sensors. The team lead must have a broad knowledge of and be able to contribute to production in all phases of mapping, lidar and orthophoto production. This includes aerial triangulation (AT), compilation, editing, orthophoto processing, LiDAR calibration and LiDAR processing. The team lead is a well-rounded employee that is able to move from one phase of work to another as needed on any given project. They must be able to work independently and trouble shoot any problems that may occur. This position includes participating in resource planning, estimating and staff management. The team lead must have a strong demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate, forming successful teams as needed. The team lead will drive process improvement and performance for the division. The team lead will optimize production to achieve outstanding quality and value, developing and improving quality procedures and work instructions to support all changes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform and troubleshoot Aerial Triangulation (AT) at various mapping scales to meet stated standards
- Compile planimetric and topographic data sets using softcopy photogrammetric work stations
- Perform Editing and GIS work on various mapping products using CAD and ESRI software
- Generate, QC and edit orthorectified imagery products
- Perform data conversion between coordinate systems or software applications
- Provide accurate input on project design, flight planning, control selection, and labor estimates
- Calibrate LiDAR data sets
- Perform LiDAR classification / Bare Earth Editing
- Edit LiDAR Bare Earth
- Perform quality assessment of Aerial LiDAR data provided from vendor
- Drive process improvement
- Perform product editing and finishing tasks
- Conduct peer review of data (model checks)
- Support estimate development and resource planning
- Manage staff, lead staff growth
- Manage and monitor performance
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Required knowledge
- Ability to interpret and understand client specifications and requirements, data compilation workflows and best practices, and security requirements
- Expert level understanding of photogrammetric, remote sensing, and image processing principles
Required skills
- Excellent stereographic vision (Photogrametry)
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, LP360, Industry standard Aerial Triangulation, photogrammetric and orthophoto software such as ISAT and ISOP OrthoVista
- Ability to learn quickly and develop processes for new products and software.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Minimum of eight years progressively complex job experience. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.
- The team lead must have sufficient experience gained from working in a related professional environment or from a college degree in an appropriately associated field of study. Must have a minimum of eight years’ experience with progressive increased responsibility within geospatial operations.
