Senior CAD Technician

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Senior CAD Technician for immediate employment in Middleton, WI. The successful candidate will have an understanding of civil engineering technology, CAD, and have proven experience in the design of municipal infrastructure. She/he will be expected to work within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. He/she will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and displays drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. The successful candidate will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers primarily within the municipal water, wastewater and stormwater sector.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Working on complex data sets in conjunction with other CAD and GIS technical staff
• Ensuring overall data quality and integrity
• Prepare civil design drawings and design calculations
• Prepare documentation for design projects and reports
• Undertake quality control procedures
• Assures that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 8+ years of related experience in municipal civil engineering design and CAD
• Design experience in surface grading, water and sewer pipe networks and detail design
• Experience working with AutoCAD Version 14 and Civil 3D
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients
• Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree
• 15+ years of experience
• Working knowledge of databases, GIS and hydraulic modeling software
• MMCD Contract Administration certification
• Good time management skills
• Construction inspection experience
