Job Description
This is an internship for the Summer of 2017. The Pools Information Systems and GIS Intern will be responsible for documentation of technical processes and systems related to Infor CRM (customer relationship management software) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems). They will work with the GIS Specialist, Pools Information Specialist and Milk Hauling Coordinator to develop robust process documentation to be used for training purposes and to assist in expanding use and understanding of these systems throughout CROPP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Revise and/or create technical documentation for table structures and connections between tables in Infor CRM database.
- Revise and/or create technical documentation for database report structures.
- Perform quality audits of data in Infor CRM database as requested.
- Develop new reports as requested.
- Revise and/or create technical documentation for GIS structures and processes used by Hauling department for routing of milk trucks.
- Revise and/or create technical documentation for GIS structures and processes used by GIS Specialist.
- Provide assistance to GIS Specialist in creation of customized maps as requested.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend monthly Pools Analytics meetings.
- Attend Data Harmonization meetings as requested.
- Assist with other database projects in Pools Department as time permits.
- Participate/attend Intern specific activities scheduled by Human Relations.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with one year or less from graduation required.
- Currently working towards degree in a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Information Systems preferred.
- Course work in GIS required.
- Database management and design experience required.
- Experience in report development preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written with a concise and professional manner.
- Technical writing skills preferred.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to prioritize workload and responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
