Position Description
Responsible for the integration of disparate technology related to WFC agricultural activities. This position will work with our current GIS staff, under the direction of our Chief Information Officer, to help facilitate our ongoing efforts to maximize Good Agricultural Practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural or Computer Related Fields
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in related Agricultural Field
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain current GIS mappings
- Assist in the design of new agricultural technology products and systems
- Insure Ag Tech Systems comply with Data Governance Policies
- Document existing ArcGIS maps
- Prepare scouting data points for collection
- Cross-train IT team members on mapping tools
Skills & Competencies
- Experience with Geospatial Systems (ArcGIS, QGIS, ESRI, etc.)
- Understanding of Project Management principles
- Experience with Agricultural Telemetry Based Systems
- Solid written/oral communication skills
- Familiarity with Statistical Analytics Tools
- Self-motivated, independent worker
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time; stand; walk; use hands to grasp, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The nature of this job will require semi-frequent trips to WFC fields and necessitate walking those fields in various soil conditions. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
