Job Description:
Wind Lake Solutions, Inc. (WLS), a well-respected data and consulting company serving electric and gas utilities and communications companies, has an excellent full-time career opportunity for a Geographic Information System (GIS) professional to work as a member of our development team in our Mukwonago, WI office.
Responsibilities:
This individual will perform a variety of tasks relating to the design, development, testing and documentation of GIS applications for utility companies. Additional responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, test, implement and maintain GIS applications.
- Consult and work with the users and developers to resolve application or data conflicts.
- Play a key role in working with clients and management in the development of new functionality and enhancements of existing software.
- Manage user requests, provide system support and perform troubleshooting.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have work experience/knowledge developing end user applications with strong creativity, knowledge of GIS applications and functionality. Key skills for this position include:
- Sharp Critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to analyze spatial data
- Problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with statistical analysis
- Object Oriented Programming skills utilizing C# and the .NET framework.
- Experience with commercial RDBMS and SQL, specifically Oracle and/or SQL Server.
- Web application development and related technologies a plus.
- GIS Database Design Experience with ArcGIS and other ESRI products is a plus.
- Mobile application development a plus.
- BS in Computer Science, GIS geography, engineering, or a related field. Relevant job experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience working with electric, gas, telecom, water and/or wastewater utilities a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time a plus.
- Prior Consulting experience a plus.
