Braun Intertec is seeking a Geospatial Data Assistant Intern to join our Bloomington, MN office.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to Geospatial Operations in the Bloomington office
- Providing Data collection and aggregation assistance for internal Geospatial information projects
- High degree of accuracy and efficiency in performing daily duties
- The selected individual must possess strong administrative skills in addition to possessing skills using various basic and sophisticated computer applications and software
- The individual selected for this role must possess, or be able to acquire, a thorough knowledge of departmental and company policies and procedures, and be able to work independently with general direction
- Perform address verification, Data extraction, and utilize base level Geospatial applications (i.e. Google Earth, QGIS, Google Maps)
- Perform administrative and clerical duties
- Verify and input information from various sources into a variety of software systems, including updating and maintenance of said information for use in proposals and reports
- Assists internal project teams with the organization of site information,(retrieving site maps, past site information, creation of job files, etc.) document preparation
- Create and maintain spreadsheets, documents, and other statistical items as directed by supervisor
- Prepare and maintain various presentations, forms, signs or flyers, and other statistical reports as requested by supervisor or staff
- Create and maintain desktop publishing documents, tables and spreadsheets. Includes imbedding of photographs into technical reports and the manipulation of pictures, maps and various other images using computer software
- Standardize formatting of a variety of reports
- Generate, or compile and prepare weekly and monthly reports using various computer software programs
- Provide workload and back-up assistance to colleagues as needed
- Provide assistance in organizing various internal initiatives related to safety, quality and training
- Participate in weekly production meetings and produce meeting minutes
- Other duties may be assigned.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks efficiently and simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Perform typing, Data entry, and computer applications with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
- Execute good customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively via telephone and e-mail
- Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos
- Write business correspondence and generate project proposals using standard formats and supplied Data
- Present information clearly and concisely in one-on-one and small group situations
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Required Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Associate’s Degree or college coursework preferred
- 1+ years experience required
