Job Summary:

Under the direction and review of the Property Planning Section Chief, this position is responsible for project based geo-spatial development, utilizing Geographic Information Systems software components to analyze and display spatial and tabular database information. Primary responsibilities will be cartographic production, project based data management and serving as lead to other IS staff (LTE) in the Property Planning Section. This position provides direction and support for the full range of GIS mapping services for property master planning work. These activities include creating and verifying integrated data topologies for database use within geospatial systems; providing spatial data processing and management; performing geographic database queries; managing workflow of other IS staff; and conducting cartographic design and construction tasks. Position requires the ability to work with a wide variety of internal clients including property managers, planning and program leads, other IS staff, and administrators.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) Methodologies utilized to perform the collection, processing and management of geospatial information.
  • Fundamental methodologies to perform technical geospatial data collection, processing, coordinate conversion, QA/QC, distribution, management, etc.
  • Fundamental methodologies of mapping sciences, cartographic design and production.

Preferred

  • Supporting project based geo-spatial technical services.
  • Relaying highly technical information effectively to a range of audiences (e.g., managers, other IT staff, program customers). 
  • Contribute to planning, development and implementation of geo-spatial project work.
