This SCO Technical Paper provides an introduction to Esri’s ArcGIS Online Platform. ArcGIS Online is a simple cloud-based utility for producing, editing, and sharing geospatial data. Designed by Esri, the makers of the popular ArcGIS software suite, ArcGIS Online is meant to act as a Web-based mapping solution for everyone from GIS professionals to those with no formal GIS training.
