USGS Provides Aerial Photos in Digital Only

The US Geological Survey (USGS) has replaced former paper offerings with digital products. The Survey cites decline in customer demand for paper prints, increasing scarcity and expense of photo-processing materials, and evolution of the photography industry as reasons for the change. Two aerial photography products are now available from the Survey, both in TIFF format: a high resolution digitally scanned image and a medium resolution digitized image. See the EROS Product Page for details regarding USGS image offerings. Research assistance and traditional paper prints of USGS aerial photographs are available from private vendors.
