Jim Geringer, former governor of Wyoming from 1995 to 2003 and the current Director of policy and public sector strategy for Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), will speak in Madison on Wednesday October 24th about the role of geographically-referenced information in making better decisions.

His presentation, entitled “Policy, Technology & Sociology – Informing Better Decisions” is sponsored by Accelerate Madison, a networking and business support organization focused on information technology issues.

This is Geringer’s second trip to Madison in recent weeks. At the end of September he gave an impressive presentation on GIS and healthcare for the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) conference held at the Concourse hotel in Madison.

Tickets to the event run $30 for non-members, and will be held at the Fluno Center on the UW-Madison campus from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Governor Geringer’s presentation will begin at 6:45.
