Anyone interested in Wisconsin state agency GIS issues is invited to attend the September 7th meeting of the State Government GIS Users Group. Highlights of the agenda include an overview of GIO Curtis Pulford’s recent activities related to enterprise GIS strategic planning, updates from agencies on interesting projects and/or issues they are facing, and an overview of a new Government Accountability Board (GAB) project to create a variety of spatial datasets.
The State Government GIS Users Group is sponsored and organized by the State Agency GIS Coordination (SAGIC) Team, a group of agency GIS managers who want to promote better communication and coordination between agency GIS programs.
Last fall, the team decided to change its meeting format to encourage participation by a broader range of state government GIS users in Wisconsin. While past SAGIC meetings were always open for anyone to attend, the new meeting format is designed to encourage more open communication and features quick agency updates, thematic and technical presentations, and discussions about geospatial “hot topics” affecting state government.
Please contact Lisa Morrison or Jim Lacy for more information about SAGIC or the upcoming meeting.
