GIS & Economic Development highlight WLIA’s Fall Meeting

The Wisconsin Land Information Association (WLIA) will be hosting its fall meeting in Neenah, WI on October 27 & 28. Focusing on “Using GIS to Benefit Economic Development”, this meeting is packed with presentations and demos spread across both days.

Thursday’s meeting (Oct. 27th) kicks off with demos of American Fact Finder, Community & Business Analyst, Eagl-i, and Locate in Wisconsin. In addition, learn about UW-Extension and UW-Whitewater’s programs that provide spatial analysis for economic development. Of course you won’t want to miss out, later that evening, the social night/networking event consisting of a fun-filled night of bowling, food and camaraderie at Fox Valley Lanes.

Friday’s meeting (Oct. 28th) starts off with presentations highlighting GIS applications for planning and development at the local and regional level. In addition, information on statewide economic development programs from the Wisconsin Development Corporation (formerly the Dept. of Commerce) will be presented.
