At least four individuals from Wisconsin have been nominated to serve on the National Geospatial Advisory Committee.

Council summit postponed until September 6

The Wisconsin Geographic Information Coordination Council Summit Meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, July 26th has been moved back to allow the planning team more time to digest feedback received.

NDOP meets, national orthoimagery cost-benefit study underway

 The federal National Digital Orthophoto Programs committee, chaired by Wisconsin State Cartographer Ted Koch, met in mid-May in Tallahassee, Florida. A nationwide orthoimagery cost-benefit study was a primary topic of discussion.

Wisconsin well-represented at NSGIC mid-year meeting

State GIS coordinators meet, and make Congressional visits to educate policy-makers on national geospatial initiatives.  The next major NSGIC event is coming to Madison in September.

Strategic plan for GIS in Wisconsin completed

Through the coordination efforts of the Wisconsin Land Information Association (WLIA), a strategic plan for GIS in the state has been completed and posted on the WLIA website. 

Will 2007 be the birth year for the WI Geographic Information Council?

It’s the New Year, always a good time to take a few moments to anticipate what the next twelve months may bring. For several reasons I am very excited about the potential prospect of good things happening in 2007.
