“OneMap” is a GIS pilot project funded by the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program and NOAA. The goal of OneMap is to develop critical GIS data layers that can support habitat restoration and conservation projects

Wetlands Data

The Wisconsin Wetland Inventory (WWI) regulatory maps show graphic representations of the type, size and location of wetlands in Wisconsin. These maps have been prepared from the analysis of high altitude imagery in conjunction with soil surveys, topographic maps, previous wetland inventories and field work.  The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages the WWI.

Legislative Audit Bureau makes recommendations for wetland mapping in Wisconsin

An evaluation of the DNR wetland permitting program by the Joint Legislative Audit Committee also includes recommendations for the Wisconsin Wetlands Inventory.

Digital Wetlands now part of DNR Web mapping tool
