GIS as a tool for groups wanting to affect public policy is an emerging field. Improvements to hardware, software, data, and expertise are combining to make it much easier for groups to have an impact.
A conference to be held this summer in New Jersey will explore this arena. The meeting is being convened by URISA, and will held on the campus of Rutgers University, July 21-23..
Abstracts of potential presentations at this conference are being accepted until March 29.
