GIS Monitor coverage of remote sensing speaks well of UW-Madison

A recent issue of the GIS Monitor focused on the latest developments in remote sensing and photogrammetry. Among other industry professionals, UW-Madison professor, Dr. Frank Scarpace, was interviewed about the differences in digital photogrammetry software (including one he has authored), as well as his take on technologies like Google Earth and LIDAR.

UW-Madison surfaced a second time during an interview with Dr. Matt Stevens, President and Chief Technology Officer of AeroSys Consulting and graduate of the UW-Madison Surveying Program. Stevens pointed out that many major surveying programs in the US are staffed by graduates of the University of Wisconsin. Stevens illustrated the latest aerial photography equipment in great detail, while also commenting on LIDAR and the latest technological developments in the field.
