In the February issue of the Mapping Bulletin, I reported on a proposal to hold a digital orthophoto quality assessment workshop in Wisconsin later this year. The organizing committee met last month, and is tentatively planning to offer the QA/QC workshop in conjunction with the WLIA regional meeting in La Crosse, October 19-21, 2005.
As an outgrowth of the QA/QC discussion, the organizing committee also recognized a need for an introductory workshop aimed at folks who may first need a more basic course on orthophotography. As a result, Andy Faust (North Central RPC), Andrew Jennings (East Central RPC), and Josh Schedler (Bay-Lake RPC) offered to run an introductory orthophotography course on June 15th at the WLIA Regional meeting in Hayward. Registration information for the Hayward meeting and intro workshop will be out during the second week of May.
