WLIA Awards given to Jim Lacy and AJ Wortley

I am proud to announce Jim Lacy, Associate State Cartographer and AJ Wortley, Outreach Specialist of the State Cartographer’s Office received special awards at the 2014 Wisconsin Land Information Association’s (WLIA) Annual Conference held at the Marriott West in Madison on February 12-14.

The WLIA Conference is the premier GIS conference in Wisconsin, with emphasis on local, regional, statewide, and federal trends, issues, and applications.

Jim received the “President’s Award” for his innovation and hard work in redesigning WLIA’s Web site in a short time frame for less cost and adding more functionality along with his contributions as chair of the Communications Committee in creating a communication mechanism for the membership. The President’s Award is a meritorious award given at the President’s discretion.

AJ received the “Outstanding Contribution Award” for his dedication and participation in WLIA since 1998 by serving as past-President, two terms on the Board of Directors, providing countless presentations, and for his advocacy in WLIA’s legislative efforts. Outstanding Contribution Award is given to an individual or an organization that is a WLIA member and has made a substantial contribution to WLIA activities or the Wisconsin Land Information Program (WLIP).
