SCO receives WLIA Outstanding Contribution Award

SCO staff (L-R): AJ Wortley, Jim Lacy, Brenda Hemstead,
and Ted Koch, along with WLIA President Jodi Helgeson at the
2009 Annual Conference in Lake Delton, WI.

I’m proud to announce the State Cartographer’s Office was recently honored with a 2009 Wisconsin Land Information Association (WLIA) Outstanding Contribution Award. WLIA gives this award to individuals or organizations that have contributed to the success or advancement of land records modernization in Wisconsin.

We received the award at the WLIA 2009 Annual Conference held in Lake Delton, WI from February 18-20.

The award nomination reads as follows:

“This group has a combined WLIA membership service of over 55 years. The recipients from this office have provided continual support to WLIA through their leadership and time devoted to the association.

Over many years, they have been involved in association committees, task forces, served on the board of directors, and provided their expertise and assistance on numerous tasks of the association. Recently, they have led statewide initiatives such as the GIS Inventory, and the formation of the Wisconsin Geographic Information Coordination Council (WIGICC).

SCO employees truly are a model of dedication, and exemplify what the Wisconsin Land Information Association mission illustrates.”

On behalf of the rest of the SCO staff, I want to thank WLIA for their support over the years. We are truly humbled, but honored, to receive their Outstanding Contribution Award.
