Ayres hires mapping and technology expert

Thomas Tym has joined Ayres Associates as technology solutions leader. Tym, who works in Ayres’ Waukesha office, brings extensive experience in geospatial, asset management, and engineering solutions to help local governments and public and private utilities to embrace technology for increased productivity. He assists with the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions for Ayres’ municipal and utility clients in the Midwest.

Tym’s background in surveying, engineering design, infrastructure management, and utility construction provides a diverse knowledge base to support professionals in Ayres’ many consulting disciplines.

“Thomas’ extensive experience with and comprehensive understanding of the role of technology in geospatial, asset management, and engineering solutions is a tremendous addition to Ayres Associates and a valuable resource to our clients,” says Kirk Contrucci, vice president.

Among the areas of expertise Tym offers Ayres’ clients are needs assessment, workflow analysis, process improvement, application development, and change management.

Tym holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering and computer science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Tym is active in various geospatial organizations, including the Geospatial Information & Technology Association, the Illinois GIS Association, and the Wisconsin Land Information Association.
