Want to work for the SCO?

The University of Wisconsin-Madison just announced a new 50% (20 hours per week) position at the State Cartographer’s Office.  We’re looking for a tech-savvy person to step in and help out with a wide range of our projects.  This mostly entails the development, testing, and ongoing maintenance of open source and commercial GIS software in traditional and web-based applications. 

 The skills we’re looking for include:

  • Understanding of cartographic and GIS principles
  • Experience with geospatial databases
  • Experience with scripting and/or programming for geospatial data
  • Technical understanding of common web concepts
