Erik Mickelson has accepted a position as a GIS Services Architect working with Geographic Information Officer Curtis Pulford at the Wisconsin Department of Administration. Erik has worked with the DOA Division of Enterprise Technology (DET) in a variety of capacities since 2000.
As an Enterprise Integration Architect with DET, Erik worked with the GIS community for several years on a number of enterprise GIS efforts including the formation of the Wisconsin Geographic Information Coordination Council (WIGICC) and the State Agency Geographic Information Coordination (SAGIC) Team.
He has been involved in a wide range of key enterprise initiatives including enterprise technical governance and strategic planning with the state agency IT director’s council (ITDC); enterprise technical architecture with the Wisconsin enterprise architecture team (WEAT); enterprise interoperability and integration architectures, and a variety of inter-agency business processes, applications, services, and architectures including the state portal, java application architecture, directory services, and identity and access management.
Erik has been an author and requested speaker for a variety of institutions including Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, ESRI, the National Association of Justice Information Systems (NAJIS), and the National Association of State CIO’s (NASCIO).
